Le couple vaudois Gisèle et Ernest Ansorge fait partie des grands pionniers du cinéma d'animation suisse. Après des débuts avec des poupées animées, ils ont trouvé leur propre technique en animant du sable de quartz principalement en noir et blanc, que Gisèle disposait sur des plaques de verre pour former des images magistrales en constante évolution. De 1957 à 1991, Gisèle, en tant qu'animatrice, et Ernest, en tant que caméraman, monteur et producteur, ont ainsi créé une vingtaine de fables et autres récits fantastiques à l'atmosphère forte, avec des personnages en constante métamorphose. La Cinémathèque suisse a restauré l'œuvre d'une vingtaine de films de ce couple internationalement connu et maintes fois primé; Filmo, l'initiative de réédition et de classiques des Journées de Soleure, en a fait une sélection représentative de 34 ans de création. The Vaudois couple Gisèle and Ernest Ansorge are among the great pioneers of Swiss animated film. After starting out with animated puppets, the two found their very own technique with the animation of predominantly black and white quartz sand, which Gisèle arranged on glass plates to create masterful, constantly changing images. From 1957 to 1991, Gisèle as animator and Ernest as cameraman, editor and producer created a good twenty atmospheric fables and other fantastic stories with characters in constant metamorphosis. The Cinémathèque Suisse has restored the internationally renowned and multi-award-winning pair's life's work; the Solothurn Film Festival's classics and re-release initiative, filmo, has made a representative selection. Das Waadtländer Ehepaar Gisèle und Ernest Ansorge gehört zu den grossen Pionier:innen des Schweizer Animationsfilms. Nach Anfängen mit animierten Puppen fanden die beiden mit der Animation von vorwiegend schwarzweissem Quarzsand, den Gisèle auf Glasplatten zu meisterhaften, sich ständig wandelnden Bildern arrangierte, zu ihrer ureigenen Technik. Von von 1957 bis 1991 schufen Gisèle als Animatorin und Ernest als Kameramann, Cutter und Produzent so gut zwanzig stimmungsstarke Fabeln und andere phantastische Erzählungen mit Figuren in ständiger Metamorphose. Die Cinémathèque Suisse hat das Lebenswerk des international bekannten und vielfach prämierten Paars restauriert; die Klassiker- und Reeditions-Initiative der Solothurner Filmtage, filmo, hat daraus eine repräsentative Auswahl getroffen hat.
